Fundraising for any charity is rewarding and the benefits are amazing to see. We like to think this is especially true at Friends of Himalayan Children. Fundraising can be completed in a range of ways. From holding raffles to charity auctions, themed diners and events, garage sales and more. We’re pleased to provide some suggestions and more information on fundraising for the FHC below.
There can be liability and insurance issues arising from other organisations, groups or individuals hosting or participating in events to raise funds for FHC. Sad as this may sound, it’s the world we live in. To help the FHC – and those fundraising for us – manage risk organisational liability, we have prepared some fundraising guidelines and protocol, which can be downloaded here. If you have any queries in regards to this, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
More InfoOver the past financial year, some of our most active members raised over $6,000 for FHC through recycling. You can help. Your recyclables have value and you can donate their value directly to our charity through Queensland’s ‘CONTAINERS FOR CHANGE’. Look for the ‘10c’ symbol containers. You can then take the containers to a deposit depot and direct your refund directly to FHC. Our access number is C10010512. Visit the Containers-for-change website (below) for further information and depot locations.
If you want to do more and get your neighbours involved, we can customise a letter-box flyer for you to spread the word around your neighbourhood. Contact Angus McColl (angusmccoll@me.com).
Do you know of a high pedestrian-traffic venue (ie. café, bakery, corner shop, butchery) that would be willing to have one of our charity tins displayed on their counter? If so, please contact Jonathan on 0414 281 196.
If the tin is lost or stolen, the venue will have no liability whatsoever. We are also able to supply a chain and attach the tin to the counter.
