Fundraising for any charity is rewarding and the benefits are amazing to see. We like to think this is especially true at Friends of Himalayan Children. Fundraising can be completed in a range of ways. From holding raffles to charity auctions, themed diners and events, garage sales and more. We’re pleased to provide some suggestions and more information on fundraising for the FHC below.
In September 2018, Take On Nepal organised a Women’s Trek to Everest Base Camp. 19 women joined the trek and each was asked to contribute a minimum of $500 to FHC. Some of the women were able to raise much more, and loved knowing that their fundraising efforts and their life-changing personal adventure, were enabling the establishment of the library in Batase. The women raised their $500 donations in various ways: garage sales, dinners, film screenings, pre-sales of an e-book about the adventure.More Info
There can be liability and insurance issues arising from other organisations, groups or individuals hosting or participating in events to raise funds for FHC. Sad as this may sound, it’s the world we live in. To help the FHC – and those fundraising for us – manage risk organisational liability, we have prepared some fundraising guidelines and protocol, which can be downloaded here. If you have any queries in regards to this, please don’t hesitate to contact us.More Info
The FHC and people of Batase Village in Nepal thank you for your consideration and fundraising efforts. Your support will help to change lives. Empowering women and children with education and pathways to progression.
