Empowerment through education

"Our volunteer administration ensures nearly 95% of funds raised go directly to supporting disadvantaged children in regional Nepal."

help us grow Batase School into an educational centre for the region

“EVERY CHILD DESERVES TO REALISE THEIR TRUE POTENTIAL.”

We aim to develop Batase School into an educational centre for the region. We want to expand the school to accommodate
Years 11 and 12.

Currently the school can take students to Year 10. Students with the academic potential and desire to go on to complete their final two years have to move to a larger centre at Melamchi or Kathmandu. This can be too much for some families. FHC helps some of these students through sponsorships but we want to make it possible for all students to complete their high school if they choose.

WE WANT TO BRING YEARS 11 and 12 TO THEM, HERE IN BATASE.

For this we need teachers and to attract good teachers we need good facilities.

OUR SIGNATURE PROJECT: to construct a multi-story teacher’s accommodation and teaching facilities to attract quality teachers to Batase village. FHC has the land. We just need funds to build the facilities. We aim to raise AUD$500,000.

We’re asking for help. You can be part of this development.

All donations are tax deductible through Rotary Australia World Community Services (RAWCS).

Why donate through RAWCS?

FHC is a volunteer-run, humanitarian organisation, working in remote rural communities in Nepal and in Kathmandu. Our aim is to improve the lives of vulnerable women and children in Nepal, through better access to quality education, training opportunities and through community-development projects. We strive to provide empowerment through education.

In November 2023 the Rotary Club of Cairns Sunrise received approval for a fundraising project for FHC under RAWCS – Project No 28-2023-2024. All donations via RAWCS are tax deductible.

This project will provide the school in Batase with financial assistance to expand facilities to include:
• Comfortable teacher’s accommodations.
• Upgrade capabilities to accommodate the Year 11 and 12 curriculums.
• Enhanced facilities to attract and retain high-calibre teachers to this remote school in Batase Village.
