Anil, FHC’s President in Nepal, recently shared a vehicle with a young lady on her way to visit her family in Baseri village for mother’s day.

They talked. Her heart-felt story helps to illustrate what motivates us here at Friends of Himalayan Children, and what you as donors and sponsors are empowering us to achieve.

“I somehow completed my school journey to know only some reading and writing. It was all because of my family background couldn’t afford for education in remote village. I have seen a lots of my friends who got married very young age and were not able to go to school. But many of girls like me have a dreams of studying further and being able girls, but in our society did not come true because of thinking of tradition. I am still happy that I can at least read and write like anyone. I got married two years ago. I had a baby recently, only few months. I am very young age but I have a many responsibility to look after of my baby, my husband family, working in farm and looking after the cuddle animals. Education is most important has to be educated everyone after that our society will be change otherwise we never change.”

Thank you Anil for capturing this wonderful story.
