The recycling scheme ‘Containers for Change’ is a very important source of income for FHC. Over the past financial year our collectors have raised nearly $8000 but that is down from last year by 25%. We need your help. A few containers can pay for a meal for a child. It’s that valuable.
Jonathan is one of our champion collectors who has a weekly run of businesses around town that allow him access to their bins. That doesn’t sound very exciting but to Jonathan its gold because he can load up with many recyclables at each location.
He’s not the only one. Howard is another who actively goes out and collects from bins for FHC. Others like Kurt from Trinity Beach has organised his neighbours into delivering their recyclables to his place. Maureen from Freshwater and Annett from Caravonica do the same. So does Tim and Mary Frances in Atherton and Pete in Bonah, southern Queensland. Everyone provides vital income to support our cause to give disadvantaged children access to a full education – a benefit not just for them but for their whole community.
Please help. You can help by either: Taking your own collection to a ‘Containers for Change’ location and use the code C10010512; or Taking you collection to a FHC collector or give them a call and organise a pick up (see below for contacts and locations).

Most soft drink cans, plastic bottles, beer bottles and cans, juice poppers, and even Yakult bottles are redeemable. Just look for ‘10c’ printed on the label. Now wine and spirits’ bottles are included, even without the ‘10c’ label.
You can take your redeemable containers to any recycling centre in Queensland and the code C10010512 will direct the money straight to FHC.
Or get your collection to us and we can process them:
