Anil Tamang (FHC President) writes “We have received donations, clothes and other items from few different donors among them we have kept them for winter which is about to start and we distribute them today to be used in right time and right clothing for these little students. Thanks to all who been supporting our work.”
Despite being a world away from Batase village in Nepal, FHC committee members and sponsors from Cairns manage to visit the village each year. In 2024 Som and Susan visited Batase more than once. Jonathan, who is actively trying to innovate water security and sustainable practice at the FHC Hostel, has visited twice this year. He aims to encourage sustainability at the hostel through growing crops on available land, and using gas for cooking rather than limited, dwindling wood supplies. Ivan Whittle was with Jonathan on his recent visit in November. Ivan is an FHC committee member with carpentry skills.
Each time somebody visits Batase, it is an opportunity to take with them goods donated by you. These goods are distributed amongst our kids and any excess is then taken to neighbouring villages for the needy there.
